We want you to walk away with much more than just a few snapshots - we want you to become part of the destination and leave the country with an understanding of its people, culture, history and let's not forget...food!
We don't attempt to insulate you from the realities of a destination. When you travel with VegVoyages, you should expect to see the country as it is. From the pretty to the not-so-pretty, we want you to experience it all.
At VegVoyages we don’t travel from one five star hotel to another. We care about where you stay and try to bring you as close as possible, including in choice of accommodations, to being a part of the destination you are visiting. Our accommodations vary depending on where we are, but they are always clean and comfortable. We may stay in a centuries old Haveli, a private palace, a quaint guesthouse, a beachfront cabana, or a remote jungle lodge. Wherever we may be, we always try to stay in places that capture the regions charm and uniqueness.
Transport on a VegVoyages adventure varies from place to place. Wherever possible, we try to use cars so we can get off the beaten track and go at our own pace. At certain locations however, we travel by jeeps, rickshaws, bicycle rickshaws, trains and boats as needed. Whatever form of transport we use though, we strongly believe that getting there is half the fun!
Above all, we travel in a way that appreciates cultures & lifestyles vastly different from our own. We respect local customs and cultures, rather than imposing ourselves on them. Cultural differences, inefficiencies and standards are quite different from what we may be used to - but that’s all part of the adventure. Though sometimes it may be trying, it will always be exhilarating - and we guarantee you will fully appreciate the destination.
PLEASE NOTE: VegVoyages does not use animals on our tours for expeditions, rides and/or safaris. Laws concerning the humane treatment of animals are lacked and rarely enforced in the countries our tours go to. Although there are exceptions, many animals such as horses, camels & elephants are often mistreated, forced to work long hours and live in poor conditions without proper care. Should you individually decide to engage activities where animals are used - such as safaris - please check to see that the animals you are renting have been treated well and that their living and working conditions are humane. Thank you for your understanding.
